The primary quality indicators for raw zeolite are ammonia absorption capacity and porosity. Zeolite from Jinyun, Zhejiang, has an average ammonia absorption value of 130 mmol/100g, while the average for Wei County, Hebei, is 140 mmol/100g. In contrast, our company’s raw zeolite boasts an average ammonia absorption value of 170 mmol/100g, with select mining sites reaching 186 mmol/100g. Currently, the most advanced domestic activation technology increases the total ammonia absorption capacity by 38%, still falling short of our raw ore’s average absorption level.
Additionally, our zeolite has a porosity of 90%, whereas the average for the four major domestic production areas is around 50%, with bulk supplies generally below 40%. Our raw zeolite requires no overburden removal, has a clay content of less than 0.1%, and exhibits exceptional quality stability, ranking it among the finest raw zeolite sources in China.
Application Field | Main Uses |
Ion Exchange | Soil improvement, wastewater treatment, removal or recovery of heavy metal ions, radioactive waste treatment, potassium extraction from seawater, desalination, hard water softening, aquaculture. |
Adsorption and Separation | Desiccants, adsorption and separation agents, molecular sieves (for separation, purification, and refining of gases and liquids). |
Catalytic Cracking | Catalysts for petroleum cracking processes. |
Agriculture and Animal Husbandry | Soil amendment, feed additives for poultry and livestock. |
Building Materials | Cement, artificial lightweight aggregate, lightweight high-strength panels, lightweight bricks, lightweight ceramic products, foaming agents, porous concrete, consolidation materials, construction stone. |
Paper and Plastics | Paper filler, plastics, resins, coatings, eco-friendly wall materials, insulation wall fillers. |
Natural zeolite is an emerging material widely used across industries such as industrial manufacturing, agriculture, and national defense, with continually expanding applications. Zeolite serves as an ion exchanger, adsorption separator, desiccant, catalyst, and cement additive. In the petroleum and chemical industries, it is used in catalytic cracking, hydrocracking, chemical isomerization, reforming, alkylation, and disproportionation of petroleum, as well as in gas and liquid purification, separation, and storage. Zeolite is also used for hard water softening and seawater desalination and as a specialized desiccant (for drying air, nitrogen, hydrocarbons, etc.).
In the light industry sector, it is used in paper production, synthetic rubber, plastics, resins, coatings as fillers, and color enhancers. In building materials, zeolite acts as a hydraulic cement additive, produces artificial lightweight aggregates, and is used to manufacture lightweight, high-strength panels and bricks. In areas like defense, space technology, ultra-high vacuum technology, energy development, and the electronics industry, zeolite functions as an adsorption separator and desiccant.
In agriculture, it serves as a soil amendment, helping to retain nutrients and waterwhile preventing pest infestation. In livestock and poultry farming, zeolite is added to feeds (for pigs, chickens) and used as a deodorizer, promoting livestock growth and increasing chicken survival rates. Environmentally, zeolite is utilized for treating exhaust gases and wastewater, removing or recovering metal ions and radioactive contaminants from wastewater. Zeolite saturated with radioactive substances after ion exchange can even serve as a radiation source. It is also effective in recovering ammonia from exhaust gases in ammonia plants and SO₂ from sulfuric acid plants and can adsorb carbon monoxide and ammonia from other industrial emissions.
Our company adheres to a high-tech, pollution-free development strategy, leveraging nature’s abundant non-metallic mineral resources and collaborating with prominent research institutions such as Harbin Institute of Technology, Tongji University, and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Zeolite is recognized as a nationally promoted environmental material for applications in drinking water purification, wastewater treatment, air pollution control, air quality enhancement products, soil improvement, and remediation of soil heavy metal contamination.
